DIRTY FILTHY TRICK PLAYED BY INDIA ON GOANS by Trevor Telles.

DIRTY FILTHY TRICK PLAYED BY INDIA ON GOANS by Trevor Telles.
The Opinion Poll was a DIRTY FILTHY TRICK the CHEATING Indians played on us. We need to understand the situation at the time when Dr Sequeira was operating under. Conditions then were not the same as today. The Bandodcar family had tremendous power, even Catholics were in awe of the Bandodcar family, (even one prominent catholic on this website recently extoled his love for this family, supposedly for offering a seat their dinner table!). Dr Jack did what he could at the time and we have to be grateful for it.

The alternative was death to Goa. Remember even the Goans in Africa were willing to send all the funds needed to free Goa, but too many catholic Goans wanted to be 'Indian'! Read the accounts of the African Goans who were on fire for independence for Goa, but they were dissed by the Goans in Goa. It has humiliating and painful for them when they were turned down. I can tell you many went to their graves crying. They NEVER got over it! Their own people betrayed them!

It was a very different time then. Looking back, yes it was the worst blunder for Goa. Sometimes when you have some very stubborn catholic Goans who feel just because they were educated they wanted to be 'Mahatma Gandhis'. The truth is Mahatma was an anomaly!!!!!! Had he not lived in Africa, he too would be setting fire to widows on funeral pyres. These people made the biggest mistake in our history!!! If you recall one 'proud fake freedom fighter' a female was dying a destitute in Mumbai recently, if not for the catholic mission she would have died like a dog on the streets. She too claimed because she had a doctorate, she was 'too smart' and whole-hearted being a 'proud Indian'.

So my brother, we need to put things in the context at the time. Goa was full of CATHOLIC traitors! FULL!!!! They considered themselves 'PROUD INDIANS'. The Indian government exploited them and used them like pigs. Dr Jack could only put a Band-Aid on a Goa that was haemorrhaging to death. For that, we have to thank him! It is up to us now to continue the fight and continue where he left off. Unfortunately you still have to deal with these powerful traitors, some like the URINE KOREAS who will fill the newspapers with propaganda and love for Bharat. They will label us Pro-Portuguese, as it works well to conjure hatred for colonists and for us.

I do believe we can still fight for plebiscite. However the older catholic Goans still believe in a Bharat nation. They don't understand that their children will be slaughtered to death with one spark. India is just a spark away from the bloody riots that occurred during independence. I don't know how you get through to these people? The brainwashing has been complete in Goa. Indian succeeded in their dirty plan! Like the British always said, 'the Indian is a dirty cheat'. Why didn't the British say that about the Goan when we were in closer proximity to them? In Africa the Indian is hated, HATED I say, by the African.

The African sees the Indian as a dirty cheat, exploiting them and treating them like dirt in their own land. In Fiji the Indians are despised, as in the West Indies. The Indian has the 'CHEATING' gene in him, it is part of his psyche, it cannot be removed! The longer Goa is part of India, the longer she will be exploited and extracted and raped. Have we not see it with indiscriminate mining. Now every damn Indian wants to run away from dirty India to come stay in Goa. They will use all means possible to do it and take over our land. We don't stand a chance against the corrupt Indian. Most Goans don't have it, in them on compete on their level and will lose. We are already seeing that! The writing in on the wall, it could not be more clear.

I am glad social media and the internet is now beginning to expose India for what it really is: a bunch of thugs, rapists with rods and despicable cheats. Even in the US the IT Indians are now being scrutinized as they have found that almost all CHEAT on their CVs. Americans are getting tired of finding out after they are hired that they LIED and CHEATED on their CVs. They then cry and beg not to be sent back home, and contrary to what most people believe Americans are very kind and feel sorry for them and feel they need to help and keep them.

Sorry, I could go on and go.....what use does it do? We had some BAD, BAD catholic Goans who were traitors in our midst emboldened with the power they were getting from Delhi.

Dr Jack did what he could do, and we have to thank him for it!  All we can do now if pray for justice to prevail over the evil that has been perpetrated on us and our beautiful homeland of Goa! GOD PLEASE help us! Have mercy on your people! Free us from the powerful clutches of an Indian-occupied-Goa! Prayer is a powerful thing, and we must use it.

THE YOUNG REVOLUTIONARIES by Constantino Xavier

Ten or twenty years ago, “anti-India” feelings in Goa would be restricted to a marginal and minority group of people.  Mostly elderly “ armchair activists”, they were either simply ignored or accused of harboring resent for the 1961 liberation and a nostalgia for the “ good old times” under the Portuguese colonial regime.

Those few that then denounced uncontrolled immigration from the rest of the country, surging crime rates, environmental degradation, or the collapse of a truly civil society, were immediately labeled as “ pro- Portuguese” – which, by default also meant “ anti- Indian” – and also as reactionaries unable to come to terms with the undeniable economic progress Goa has experienced in the last fi ve decades.

There is no doubt that many older Goans nurture a deep resentment against what happened in 1961. I have written before that India’s military action off ered Goa a valuable negative liberty from the oppression of a colonial and fascist regime in Lisbon, but, at the same time, that annexation through conquest also denied Goans the agency to conquer their positive liberty, for example by freely deciding their political fate within or without either Portugal or India.

What is new today, however, is how this resentment is growing well beyond a tiny declining group of elderly Goans.

The many Goa groups on Facebook offer a good sample of these voices. There you will fi nd comments that may not be overtly ant- Indian, but oft en extremist in their denunciation of non- Goan tourists and immigrants who visit or settle in the state – “ ghantis ” and “ bhingtas ”. The trendiest phrase around seems to be to describe Goa as India’s “ colony” which refl ects these youth’s dangerous ignorance about the true history and nature of colonialism.

This sentiment is also fueling demands for special status, mainly under the umbrella of the Goa Movement for Special Status. Just ten years ago, people would laugh at that idea, then made by only a handful of anonymous activists. Today, it is the rallying cry of all major parties.

Similarly, while opposition to the new ( second) international airport at Mopa, in the extreme North of the state dates back several years, it is now succeeding in galvanizing the public against the Navy, which controls the originally civilian Dabolim airport since 1962 and is thus being pressured to move to INS Kadamba in Karwar.
All this indicates unprecedented levels of mobiliaation among Goan youth, which are adopting more radical causes and slogans that, only a few years ago, were absolutely unthinkable.

When, in 2007, at the height of the Save Goa movement, I met a young Goan who professed his “hatred” against India and called Goa his “ only motherland” I thought of him as a curious and rare exception – a “ radical”. I am no longer sure he is that much of a loner today.

Oft en the root of such discontent is a very specifi c issue, however small or complex: lack of professional and education opportunities; illegal land conversion and environmental degradation; the rise in urban slums for immigrants; the surge in violent crime and insecurity associated to gangs; the beach belt colonized by Russians and foreign mafi as; the unruly social and sexual behavior of drunk Indian tourists on the beaches and narrow roads; or maybe even a small, personal experience of alienation – simply because, as Samuel Huntington reminded us, “for peoples seeking identity and reinventing ethnicity, enemies are essential”. As these young Goans struggle with their identity in a society undergoing rapid and massive transformation, many will not resist the temptation to create new enemies.

It remains to be seen to what extent democratic politics and civil society will be able to respond to this extreme discontent.

As an outside observer, I can only monitor these trends – and confess my worries at the alarming radicalisation of a cross- section of young Goans, independent of their caste, class and religion. Xenophobia, bigotry and violence have only rarely found fertile ground in a Goa that for centuries has been a cosmopolitan and liberal melting pot for diff erent cultures and identities. So it must continue.

NEHRU SAID IT EVEN 'BETTER THAN HITLER' brought to you by Franco Fernandes
New York : The New York Daily News dated 22 December 1961, in an editorial headed,'The Hindu Faker', yesterday slammed Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for attacking and capturing Portuguese Goa.  “Of all the sidelights on Indian Prime Minister Nehru’s grab of Portuguese Goa, we treasure most the Hindu leader’s own crack that the quick success of the operation proved it to have been right. “The late Adolf Hitler couldn't have said it better. A bank robber might as well argue that the loot was justly his because he took it in a hurry without killing anybody and made a fast getaway.

“Seriously, though, this Hindu faker Nehru has encouraged greedy, grabby characters like Soekarno and Mao Tse-tung all over the world. After a lifetime of pacifist preaching, he may turn out to have been a champion breeder of wars.  “Can the United States do anything to register a strong disapproval of Mr Nehru’s hypocritical aggression?

“It happens that the US Time Corporation, prior to the Goa grab, was all set to build a five million dollars, 1,500-job, watch-making plant in India. Now Time Corporation notifies New Delhi that the deal is off, and the factory may well be set up in Pakistan, the neighbouring nation that Nehru hates most.   “Why not a similar re-jiggering of US aid to India and to Pakistan?”

INDIA’S VAIN WARMONGERING ATTEMPTS TO VALIDATE ITS ILLEGAL INVASION OF GOA by Johny Rebello

It is a little surprising at times when one comes across many Goans, other than those who are mere laymen, who know so little or are not conscious in political context of themselves and accordingly how their lives and their higher potential has been affected.   It would be news to many to know that Kuwait was invaded by Saddam through explicit instigation and persistent proactive coercion from her mentor India.

It was a requisite for India, having occupied Goa illegally, as it does so even today, and in the absence of International Law to validate such kind of invasion, and to consolidate her position over Goa’s invasion, internationally (which cannot be done unless followed by the universally laid down  procedures and under UN to confirm to International Law), it was necessary for India, to establish a parallel to her action of  occupation of Goa, and therefore had to coercive other potential countries, similarly positioned like herself, and who would follow her procedure likewise, in order to establish an 'popular consensus’ and then to establish a kind of new ad-hock international world order that would circumvent to entitle them a ‘de facto’ status to retain the then illegally seized territories and to ‘legalize’ them as part of their own territory!

India therefore exercised her leadership to instigate these potentially rogue countries like herself, to violate International Law on her similar basis, which would  allow India to broadly justify her own illegal action on Goa. On the other side, India went steps beyond and attempted to tamper with the workings of certain International Organizations to pose resistance to impart international justice to those respective, thus victimised territories. .

It proves that India is the worst kind of colonialist even worse than the Western countries that it had the audacity to propagate her colonial culture and philosophy, applied in Goa, to be transported across the seas to distant countries, to colonially subjugate, oppress and deprive the right to those inhabitants by their respective regimes, as is done in Goa, and in territories where India is least known or not connected to the lives of those people. It would be worth for Kuwaiti people to well understand this.

There is ample amount of such evidence to demonstrate how India used every means to hamper East Timor’s independence because this would set a precedent uniquely matched for Goa’s likewise entitled independence. One such, of many illustrative incidents, which were widely reported in Portuguese media, was NAM conference in Luanda, Angola, when India as one the founders of NAM used her prominence to physically debarred Fretin, the East Timorese movement from gaining even an Observer status at that Conference. However, after some years of uphill struggle and much to the Lusophonic wisdom and influence prevailing high in support of East Timor’s just cause, East Timor eventually  gain her presence in NAM in defiance to India’s resentment. This was one of the many venues adopted by East Timor, to which Goa is equally entitled, to pave for her eventual independence and sovereignty.

The Indian mooted invasion of Kuwait by Iraq was well conceived and meticulously planned all along and not without India’s help and counsel, and with New Delhi, as its principal mentor and originator of the very idea, was kept informed at every step.

It has to be remembered that the issue of Saddam invading Kuwait was very essential for India because India was then looked upon as the lone violator of International Law under Decolonization which was linked with Goa, and therefore India wanted fellow partners like Iraq and Indonesia to boost each one’s moral and prove to the world, collectively that in such circumstances as theirs that it has to be commonly accepted to be  world order or common norm, as if to be Universally applied and as if it licenses them to literally rob wholesale their small neighbour.

No sooner had Saddam declared success in occupying Kuwait immediately that very day I. K.Gujral, India’s Foreign Minister grass-hoped to Baghdad to famously bear-hug Saddam Hussein and heartily congratulate him on his successful invasion of Kuwait that put Kuwait in par with the invasion of Goa, which India much desired.
Back in New Delhi, India was buoyant and jubilant  to have come one notch nearer to ‘validate’ her hold on Goa vis-à-vis Kuwait and was most celebrative declaring to the world that India is the first country in the world to congratulate Iraq for invading and occupying Kuwait!

But unfortunately this dream for Saddam and fortunately this nightmare for Kuwait did not last and was short lived unlike in Goa the nightmare half century on still lingers into 21st century. Kuwait’s aspiration to regain her freedom came true when 33 nations grouped together under the UN banner to free Kuwait from the claws of Iraq.

India branded as champion of ugly colonialism and not champion of freedom was condemned for her nefarious deed and ostracized and hunted away by the Kuwaitis from their scene

Ironically Goa’s aspiration for her independence was re-echoed along with Kuwait’s wish, in a most symbolic manner with Portugal being part of this 33 nation group contingent who provided a warship. Portugal’s gesture was well in keeping with her high aspirations to free all territories from colonialism and to grant independence to all her former colonies with Goa included, as expected, to be free independent sovereignties.
.
These three Gangsters with India being at the pinnacles were surely out to set a new world order “rob thy neighbour”. But unfortunately much to their desire no nation scribed to this idea, and Indonesia and Iraq fell into fire.

It did not matter so much to India internally, within India, where she gagged and kick the Goans, as she still does, taking them for uneducated and unvalued to be disinherited and stripped of their mother land under harsh colonial suppression all in silence and darkness. However, it did matters very much for India in the International Community and Global Society when it comes to stand shoulder to shoulder in the league of civilized nations. Unfortunately, India does not qualify for any rank as such. She stands at the very bottom of the ebb in an uncivilized manner as a “neo-colonial power”, a reminiscent of a dark colonial past in a colonially free 21st century world order.

This Indian mooted Kuwaiti’s invasion’s orgy was a catalyst that provided a corridor to Iraq War and the ensuing biggest blood bath of the 21st century in the course that followed to seek Saddam Hussein for his atrocities, for which Hindu India of non-violent fakir called Mahatma Ghandi that boast as world’s biggest democracy has to bear the moral responsibility. Much could have been elaborated on this catastrophe of Iraq War because myriads of unspeakable implications cascaded from this tragedy which all started with the export and propagation by India of her “rob thy weaker neighbour’s country” colonial philosophy.

While Saddam may have been punished and hanged for his hideous crime of robbing weaker neighbour’s territory but Nehru, the real perpetrator and initiator of this culture and legacy who robbed Goa, missed the hangman’s noose to escape safely and stayed on to create his own dynasty while Saddam’s dynasty and his dreams vanished into ashes.

Nehru was a worst culprit in history but little the Goans know about it. Do they know that if the Indian postured tyrant Saddam was still occupying Kuwait, as India persisted, would our Goan fraternity be enjoying the livelihood and the lifestyle they are having in their host country?

For those pro-Indian Goans who openly flaunt themselves as ‘proud Indians’ in contravention of their expected patriotism and loyalty to  that noble host country who had suffered the same fate as Goa, in which still lingers in, this should be  a long lesson to study.

INDIA CANNOT BE CONCEIVED AS MOTHERLAND OF GOA by Gabriel De Figueiredo

INDIA CANNOT BE CONCEIVED AS MOTHERLAND OF GOA by Gabriel De Figueiredo
I cannot conceive India as being the “motherland” of Goa, as the Indian Union came into existence in 1947, and as Republic of India in 1950. Goa came into existence as India Portuguesa since 1510 (older than the Taj Mahal) and as Estado da India Portuguese, an overseas province of Portugal (in the same sense as the Falkland Islands are to UK and Hawaii is to US) since 1757(a hundred years before the Sepoy Mutiny).

Members of the Estado da India Portuguesa had full-fledged Portuguese citizenship since 1757 – just ask Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes (or his statue that stands in a park at Campal), who represented the Estado da India Portuguesa in the Cortes Gerais 1861-1869.

Officially, it was the USSR veto that overrode the Security Council draft resolution to chuck the Indian Armed forces back to borders.   It is my gut feeling that a certain group of Goans who approached the UN later circa 1964 re Goa’s status was not entertained due to the fact that there was no Goan citizenship – those Goans were Portuguese citizens, and therefore due to the veto, had no “voice”.   Therefore, today’s complainants about “Russian mafia” in Goa ought to know that certain Indian quarters are paying back the ex-USSR the favour …

Rather, Goa was “abducted” by a “step-mother”. Just check the behaviour of those naval squatters at Dabolim, who are literally forcing Goans to look for an airport elsewhere. Perhaps certain journosand historians require to get their facts and perspectives right.

COLONIALS AND CONFLICTS by Rahul Singh

COLONIALS AND CONFLICTS by Rahul Singh
It has been raining anniversaries. First, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Capital, New Delhi; the 40th anniversary of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war, leading to the birth of Bangladesh; and the 50th anniversary of the “liberation” of Goa from Portuguese rule.  First, the British. When I was at university, one of the subjects I studied was called “The Expansion of Europe”. It was all about imperialism and dealt with the spread of Spain, Portugal, Britain, France, Holland – even Germany, Japan, Belgium and Italy, later – into the rest of the world. It goes without saying that these imperialist countries went abroad to gain more power and to tap the kind of natural resources they could not get at home. They were stronger militarily than the colonies they took over. That was the basis of imperialism.

However, if one was to put prejudice aside and grade the imperialist powers, the British were the best, or to put it another way, the least worst. In India, they provided education, an efficient administration and an industrial infrastructure. Also, they introduced the English language, which has made India into an information technology (IT) super power. There are many Indians who still have a soft corner for the British, unlike, say, the Vietnamese and Algerians for the French, or the Indonesians for the Dutch.

It was King George V and Queen Mary who announced at a Royal “Durbar” in Delhi in December 1911 the shifting of the Capital, though the main building work was started only two decades later. The chief architect was the incomparable Sir Edwin Lutyens. When I want to impress my visiting foreign friends, I take them for a drive, up what is now Rajpath (earlier, Kingsway), from India Gate, the World War 1 memorial, to Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President’s abode, earlier Viceroy House).

Then, just before you reach the Secretariat, on an incline on the right and left sides, alongside the wall, there are two alcoves. That is what I show my foreign friends. There, are inscribed the names of those responsible for building the magnificent Secretariat/Rashtrapati Bhavan/Parliament complex, a unique and memorable blend of eastern and western styles of architecture. Most of them are Britishers but two Indians find a place in that distinguished panel: Sir Teja Singh Malik and Sir Sobha Singh. Both happen to be my grandfathers, the first from my mother’s side and the second from my father’s. Both were also knighted by the British. Sobha Singh was the main contractor for the project and Teja Singh, the chief engineer.

Let us move on to the 40th anniversary of the 1971 Indo-Pak was which led to the birth of Bangladesh. This was Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s finest hour. But it was also a triumph of India’s secularism. The Commander-in-Chief of the Indian army was General “Sam” Manekshaw, a Parsi belonging to the Zoroastrian faith, the person who accepted the surrender of 93,000 Pakistani troops, General Aurora, a Sikh, and the man who was the overall commander of the sector, General Jacob, a Jew. From India’s point of view New Delhi also lost a chance to solve the Kashmir problem for good at the Simla summit that followed. Indira Gandhi had a key bargaining chip: the 93,000 Pakistani POWs. But the wily Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto got the better of her. He got the POWs back, without any written reassurance from him on the status of Kashmir.

Finally, the “liberation” of Goa. I have deliberately put it in quotation marks, since I do not believe an Indian armed takeover of the territory was really necessary. India won independence from the British by Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence. Pondicherry, the last remaining French territory in India, was handed over by France peacefully. The same would undoubted have happened with Goa, after the demise of the Portuguese dictator, Salazar.

Instead, Jawaharlal Nehru, much against his better judgment, and under the malevolent influence of his Defence Minister, Krishna Menon (who was facing a tough election in Mumbai), sent the army in. It was a no-contest. The Portuguese only had a token force in Goa, which had orders to lay down their arms in case of hostilities. The Indian troops went on a looting binge, finding all kinds of imported stuff they were starved of back home. My uncle, a Brigadier who was part of the Indian invasion, came back with a host of goodies.

India lost face and was condemned internationally. Even the Goans, by and large, were none too happy. Guess anniversaries teach us lessons we don’t always remember. – Courtesy Khaleej Times

GOA - NEVER BELONGED TO ANY COUNTRY CALLED INDIA By Shaun José Roiz Rodrigues

This note explains why GOA was never a part of any country or nation called India before 1961 annexation due to invasion and violation of the sovereignty of the people of GOA followed by inappropriate and failed procedures of 1974/75 between a nation called Republic of Portugal and another called Republic of India registered with the UN without the consent agreement in black and white of any of the diverse and multi-ethnic people of the land called GOA who had/have ancestry of five generations and more and who owned the Land of GOA for generations of ancestry.

It also explains why not all GOANS associate themselves as Hindustani or Industani or Indians.

Let us understand about the REPUBLIC OF INDIA that was formed in 1947. Why was it called INDIA ?

The answer lies in the fact that there was INDOOSTAN much before the Age of Discovery, This INDOOSTAN (also called as HINDOOSTAN) in the subcontinent was a huge land by geography and this huge land by geography made of many parts was not or never ruled or governed or administered by any central governance at the same time in the form of one Emperor, King or Lord until its capture by Britain in the later years where the people (one of the exception in the asian subcontinent: the people of GOA) of this huge subcontinent INDOOSTAN were subjects of the Rulers of BRITAIN till they gained Independence in 1947 as the people of the British Empire in the subcontinent were not the same by Law and rights as the people residing in Britain.

(GOA and its PEOPLE were one of the exceptions in the Asian subcontinent and were never ever SUBJECTS of the rulers of BRITAIN)

The name INDOOSTAN was due to the great river called INDUS, its total length approximately is 3,180 km (1,980 mi).  The ancient Greeks on a generalized approach referred to the people around the river Indus as "Indói" (Ἰνδοί), literally meaning " the people of the Indus '' in English it would mean '' Indian ''.
Today the Republic of India has a name continued from the River Indus (Indoostan, Industan, Hindoostan, Hindustan) and this river Indus today does not belong to the Republic of India but to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

GOA was indeed geographically in the ASIAN subcontinent and was made up of islands and provinces (Island of Chorao and Divar, Island of Angediva, Island of .... , Province of Salcete, Province of Bardez, etc ). Today's GOA as defined by boundaries had various Rulers, Kings, Lords, Feudal Lords, tribes etc and consisted of lands subdivided by ownership and owned by various captures as in the case of the whole world at that time(Conquer and capture was POWER). During the Age of Discovery, Parts of today's GOA was under the Mughals after which parts of it were conquered by Afonso de Albuquerque(and his men) and it became a part of the Portuguese Empire from 1510 with the King of Portugal as it supreme head and ruler. In time some more parts of GOA were conquered and these were called New conquests. The entire GOA of today was ruled followed by governed by the Kingdom of Portugal over its Portuguese Empire followed by the Republic of Portugal (from 1910) over its colony and then its overseas province until 1974/75. The people of GOA were by birth PORTUGUESE pre 1961 just as any PORTUGUESE in mainland or other overseas provinces such as Azores, Madeira, Angola, Macau, Mozambique, etc.. They had the same rights, the same constitution, etc. There was no difference by LAW in any form. GOA as one entity was a province of the Republic of PORTUGAL just as any other province in mainland of the Republic of PORTUGAL. Since GOA was geographically located in the Asian Subcontinent which was on a generalized approach given the name Indoostan, the name in Portuguese for the  Portuguese subcontinent provinces together was called Estado da India as India came from Indoostan which meant the name of the region and not a Nation or Country or Governance.

GOA hence was never a part of a Country or Nation or Governance called India exclusively pre 1961. The people were never Indian. GOA cultures, its uniqueness was formed by people of various ethnicity, diversities, mixtures, tribes, etc that had/have influences from various regions of the globe. So GOA should not be generalized in any form and currently has its right to be either of the following:

1) Continued Statehood with the Republic of India with the current form of governance.
2) Special Status Autonomous dependency of the Republic of India.
3) Sovereign Free Associated State.
4) Sovereign country, fully independent (DRG : Democratic Republic of GOA)

In conclusion, GOA - Was Never a part of any country called INDIA but located by latitude and longitude in the Asian huge subcontinent which people called as a generalized word Indoostan , Hindustan that actually had Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc and just as we would not call a Pakistani as Indian not all Goans appreciate to be called Indian.

NOT ALL GOANS are INDIANS in ASIA just as not all ENGLISH and SCOTTISH in EUROPE.
